What "AI PMO" should mean
"AI PMO" is used loosely. In practice there are three very different things on the market:
- A chatbot bolted onto a task tool — summarises tickets, cannot produce a governance artefact.
- Autonomous agents — act on your plan and inbox without asking. Fast, until one is wrong in front of a sponsor.
- Approval-first assistance — AI does the drafting and the arithmetic, a human owns every commitment. That is the model Pocket PMO uses.
The third option is the only one we have seen survive a governance forum, because the person presenting the report can defend every line of it.

The limits, stated plainly
The AI works from what is in your workspace. If a project has no plan, no RAID and no progress, it will say so rather than invent a narrative. It does not read your email, it does not act on a schedule you did not set, and it cannot be assigned work items.
Predictive scores are models, not promises. Completion Probability and Execution Friction are deterministic and explainable — you can see which signals moved them — but they are decision support, not a guarantee. Full detail is in our AI policy and AI trust page.
